Graece Πρόθεσις, vocabatur, cum mortui ad fores erant collocati, versis in publicum pedibus, usque dum efferrentur. Vide supra in voce Positi. In Ecclesia Graeca sic Altare minus ad sinistram Bematis partem, (cum maius, dictum ἁγία Τράπεζα, in medio sit) dictum est, in quo Graeci multis ceremoniis, panem et vinum, in Eucharistiae usum praeparant, indeque tempore consecrationis processionaliter, ad sacrum Altare, deferunt, cui pompae interesse olim solebat Graecus Imperator coronationis suae die, hôc modô: Tempore deferendarum oblationum, aliqui Diaconi ibant in vitatum novum Imperatorem qui cum eis ingrediebatur in Prothesis locum; ubi mantô aurô contextô indutus, capite gestans coronam et baculum manu, qui Narthex dicebatur, sinistrâ, centummilitibus armatis stipatus, inde procedebat: sequebantur Diaconi, ac his succedebant Sacerdotes, oblationes ferentes. Tum accedebat ad maiorem portamin Sancta Sanctor??? aditum pandentem, ubi exspectabatur a Patriarcha; qui post quam se mutuo salutâssent, in parte exteriore subsistente Imperatore interim transibat Diaconus, Patriarchale ferens pallium dexterâ, qui in conspectu Imperatoris gradum sistens elatâ voce dicebat, Recordetur Dominus Deus potentiae Regni tui, in Regno suo, ubique nund et semper et in saecula saeculorum, Amen. Quod ab aliis quoque Diaconis ac Saceredotibus, qui sequebantur, iterabatur: donec ingressi Sanctuarium simili modô Patriarchae acclamarent, Recordetur Dominus Deus tuus Pontificatus tui ubique etc. Quibus peractis Imperator, salutatô Patriarchâ, paludamentum deponebat et ad suum locum recedebat. Tempore dein Communionis, quam hâc die sumebat intra cancellos, cum aliis sacris Ministris, propriis manibus Eucharisticum panem et calicem, a Patriarcha sibi porrectum, accipiebat etc. Vide Dominic.
